This exhibition of artworks
created in the mid 1940s through the early 1960s focuses on Tschacbasov's
fascination with the sea. The images comprise a select overview of
a prolific body of work spanning the artists 50 year career. These
paintings, graphics and ceramics reveal a tensile jungian world of
water-related symbolism and narrative. The sea: it's bounty, beauty
and motion is shown in relation to the human life cycle, mythology,
secular and religious traditions, dynamic forces of nature and the
cosmos.
