A display of modern and contemporary American

shown with mid-20th century designer ceramics, metalwork,

This installation evokes the ambience of a living room
/ salon filled with art and objects past and present.
Great paintings from the mid 1930s are displayed with
kitschy “bad” 1960s art; important mid 20th century
Venetian glass is shown with Asian knick-knack ceramics;
ephemera and memorabilia are juxtaposed with artist-signed
photographs of the early Warhol social scene. The Modern
Salon show encourages viewers to articulate and evaluate
their personal tastes and formulate aesthetic judgments.
